Who We Are

On October 7th, 2023, our global Jewish and Israeli community faced a profound transformation following the devastating attacks by Hamas terrorists in Israel. In response, the resilient members of the Jewish and Israeli community in Winnipeg united to form the Manitoba Israeli Coalition (MIC). Founded on the conviction that collective action can drive meaningful change, MIC stands as a powerful advocate for Israel. Our mission extends beyond geographical boundaries, as we confront the escalating tide of antisemitism both locally and internationally. The coalition remains unwavering in its commitment to support and unite the Jewish community, emphasizing that together, we can make a lasting impact.

What We Do

Battling Anti-Semitism

The Manitoba Israeli Coalition is dedicated to implementing effective protocols within educational institutions to address and resolve incidents of antisemitism among students. Our initiative focuses on establishing standardized procedures that streamline communication and coordination, ensuring a swift and fair resolution for all parties involved. Together, we work towards a future where antisemitism is actively confronted and eradicated through collaborative efforts in the realm of education.

Supporting the community on security matters

The Manitoba Israeli Coalition is committed to ensuring the safety of community events, particularly those organized by community members or in support of synagogues during Shabbat gatherings. Our focus on event safety involves deploying vigilant guards recruited and thoroughly vetted by our dedicated committee. By implementing robust security solutions, we strive to create a secure environment where individuals can gather to celebrate Jewish holidays and community milestones free of safety concern.

Advocating for the state of Israel

The Manitoba Israeli Coalition is actively working to raise awareness among Winnipeggers of the history of Israel, with a particular emphasis on the tragic events of the massacre on October 7th, 2023. Our advocacy efforts include development of routes to disseminate factual information, organizing displays, and conducting presentations for individuals who may not be fully aware of the complexities of the Middle East conflict.

Uniting the Israeli and Jewish community

The Manitoba Israeli Coalition actively forges connections with various organizations in the region, fostering collaboration between diverse communities to promote unity and strength. By building bridges between different groups, we create a supportive network that enhances understanding, cooperation, and solidarity. We believe that by being united we will be able to overcome challenges and bring safety to the Jewish Community of Winnipeg.
